Chapter 6

“All right you two,” Lucille's amused voice said. “You can stop now. Come on Maryanne, let him breathe.”

Maryanne pulled away, blushing slightly. She had lost track of how long she had sat there kissing Harrington, and had no idea everyone else had walked up to them.

“All right, we need to leave,” Evan said. “Now I'm hungry too.” His comment seemed to revive the hunger in the group, and they all left the shore. After a walk that they were familiar with by now, they made it to the men's cottage.

When they entered the cottage, Jackson headed straight to the sofa closest to the fireplace. He had the lowest tolerance for cold, which was weird, because he was easily the largest. Lucille walked over and sat on his lap. She no longer felt that she had to restrain her affections in front of Maryanne, especially after seeing her kiss Harrington. It was a surprise, but a welcome one.

Everyone had guessed it would happen, sooner or later. Harrington was relentless, and Maryanne could not form a sentence without mentioning him, no matter how hard she tried. The pair in question also walked to the living room and sat down together on one of the sofas. Evan went straight to the kitchen, with Tracy following eagerly behind him.

Evan proceeded to sort out his ingredients, before arranging them on the table.

“You are so organized,” Tracy said. She was marveled by how he could do such perfect arrangements, without much thought.

“I guess I'm just used to it,” he laughed. He found her amazement adorable.
